Loyalty is a pretty big topic in bankcards. Of course the pandemic has taken a slice out of the cobrand and proprietary reward card market; specifically the airline, hotel and car rental categories. Which direction are things heading? For example: AmEx continues to lower its costs of rewards; Chase has bought CXLOYALTY, clearly as a long term play. Thad Peterson, Senior Analyst, Aite Group
Thad Peterson is a senior analyst with Aite Group, focusing on the evolution of the payment space, the customer payment experience, and the merchant side of payments. Thad has a proven track record of identifying and developing new opportunities and technologies in payments and financial services. Prior to joining Aite Group, Thad led the mobile commerce practice at inCode Consulting and was managing director of Maritz Real-Time Rewards, leading the company’s mission to build a new industry standard at the nexus of transactional marketing and consumer engagement. While at Maritz, he also served as a division vice president, heading up strategy and solutions development for Maritz’s financial sector. Before joining Maritz, Thad was a partner with global financial services and payments firm Edgar, Dunn & Company, where he led the retail banking, loyalty, and emerging technology practice areas, working with retail banks, card issuers and processors, airline consortiums, new payment technology providers, payment associations, and prepaid card issuers. Thad has also worked as a C-level executive at retail banks and held positions in product management and marketing.

Kabbani is a multidisciplinary global leader with a distinguished career in technology-enabled business services. He has led a venture capitalist funded startup which grew through nine acquisitions to become a major player in the fintech industry. Kabbani was CEO of a payment processing company in the e-commerce arena prior to joining ACT Holdings. He grew ACT from a $30MM student loan ARM company to an industry-leading $400MM+ diversified Call Center & BPO. He was President of QLess, a disruptive SaaS technology startup, completing two rounds of funding, restructuring debt terms and helping to scale the business. Kabbani is now CEO of CieloPay, a next-gen. loyalty and payments SaaS platform with an integrated loyalty and mobile payments app. Passionate about helping companies succeeds, he serves on the advisory board of the International Money Transfer Conference and several startups. A U.S. citizen of Lebanese and Russian heritage, Kabbani studied economics and holds an MBA in finance from the American University of Beirut.

Simon Luthi manages the overall strategic direction and day-to-day operation
of the Ultimate Rewards travel site and adjoining benefits. As part of his role,

Simon holds a Bachelor in Business Administration, with a minor in German.
He attended the Graduate School of Business Administration in Zurich
Switzerland. He is fluent in German, Swiss German, English and French.
